Low lather, no chemical

A frothy white mass of bubbles produced by soap or any other product like shampoo when mixed with water forms lather. Many people now prefer to use products made with sulphate and paraben but they are believed to have many adverse side effects. We love the products made with sulphate and paraben besides knowing the fact that they lather due to the presence of chemicals. A paraben is a preservative used in a product; it forms lather and foam which is not good for us. The chemicals that produce suds are called sulphates. Meanwhile, Sulphate may have the ability to get rid of oil and dirt but recent studies have found that it is toxic. Sulphate has been found to be one of the key culprits of hair loss and thinning hair; it actually destroys hair and inhibits hair growth. A product in true terms is beneficial and safe to use if it forms low lather that straightway means the product is free from any chemical additions.

Adding natural soap to water changes the surface and allows stable bubbles, and thus lather to form. Almost all cleansing products are based on some type of surfactant. Products like shampoo, soaps and body wash that forms lather because it contains chemical compounds called surfactants (surface active agents). They are also often allergens, capable of over-drying your scalp or skin and seriously causing irritation. With all the benefits attached to using a sulphate and paraben free shampoo, it’s easy to understand why so many people are now using these healthier shampoo options instead of the ones we have been so accustomed to over the years. Product like soaps, shampoo don’t need any synthetic additives to create lather, because it not only makes great bubbles and lather, but also helps to clean the oily dirt from your skin--naturally!  Even if you are using shampoos or soaps which have these harmful chemicals present in them, then moisturising is the best way out. Moisturised hair and skin is less prone to any damage like split ends, hair breakage and over dryness on skin.

Sulphates are detergents and products made with such harsh chemicals, affects the skin, hair and body. These chemicals when comes in contact with water forms a frothy lather which is harmful for our body. There is something important that needs to be taken care of is, if you are using a product that forms a lot of lather, that means it is made with detergent. We are not acquainted with the fact that the manufacturers of the beauty and hair care products add chemicals in order to create more bubble and foam. In fact, many of us are attracted by the bubbles formed while bathing or washing off our hair.

To achieve a radiant look and make your skin free from chemicals, you need to avoid certain hair and skin care ingredients in your products which includes:

  • Ammonium lauryl sulfate
  • Triethanolamine (TEA)
  • Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)
  • Sodium Chloride
  • Parabens
  • Petroleum
  • Synthetic Fragrance or Parfum
  • Synthetic Colors
  • Lanolin

Most of the shampoos contain foaming agents in order to increase bubbles or lather when mixed with water. While shampooing your hair you spread shampoo all over the hair and scalp. However, the frequent use of products with sulphates has lead to cell damage and stripping away of hair proteins. When we wash our hair we will most likely notice a thick lather working up with our favorite shampoo.

The most important part is providing adequate moisture to your hair and body which will at the end prevent hair and skin issues. SLS shampoos strips away the moisture from hair fibers which cause them to turn dull and frizzy. On the other hand, shampoos free from SLS helps in retaining the natural moisture in hair. Many of us love to see the thick lather formations which are produced by the sodium lauryl sulphate placed in the shampoo. It is a surfactant that produces a rich lather. Aside from the fact that it lathers, you will get to know that there are sulphates in your product that acts immediately as a negative connotation in your hair products.
